Mushtaq Ahmad Qazi is CS Financial's legal counsel. He has an extensive experience in Islamic Banking and Finance especially product development, training and Shariah supervision,  legal and Shariah risk management.


He has served Crescent Standard Bank, Pakistan as Shariah/Legal Advisor/Conversion Supervisor where has drafted most of the Bank’s Islamic Manuals, and products both on asset and liability sides. He has also served the Bank of Khyber, Pakistan in the capacity of Deputy Shariah/ Legal  Advisor/ Conversion Supervisor. He has provided comprehensive training on Islamic Banking and Finance. Mr. Qazi also remained Lecturer in law at the Faculty of Shariah and Law, International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan where Mr. Qazi taught Arbitration, Contract law,  Commercial laws, Information Technology law, International Trade Law, WTO Dispute Settlement System and Islamic Banking Laws.

Mr. Qazi got B.A. & LL.B. (HONS) Shariah and Law degrees from International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan in 1999, followed by LL.M. (International Business Law) from the University of Hull, UK in 2001.  


Areas of specialization:

Mr. Qazi has expertise in  all field of corporate world, especially merging and acquisition, taking over abandoned projects, Islamic banking and finance, product development. Mr. Qazi worked as a team member in Emaar Sukuk of $2 Billion issued in 2009, listed in London Stock Exchange, drafted first of its nature, Shariah Compliant, Islamic Private Foundation based on the Shariah Concept of Waqf for Mossack Fonseca, Panama. Furthermore. Mr. Qazi has great expertise in conversion of conventional banks into Islamic banking system. He has worked as a conversions supervisor for a big conventional bank which was successfully converted into Islamic bank.
